The restoration of Hilton Theater, formerly The Ford Center for the Performing Arts, is a major contri-bution to the revitalization plan of 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues. The preservation of the historic facades of the old Lyric and Apollo Theaters, combines design elements of both, with a new state of the art performance space within. Structural features include new seating, stage, rigging, lobbies, dressing rooms, mechanical stem, and support spaces. The successful musical Rag Time was the 1st Broadway musical to open there upon completion. |
