Robert Silman Associates provided structural engineering design services as part of the comprehensive restoration of Louis Kahn’s iconic 1953 modernistic brick and glass building. Work included consulting on new curtain wall framing, a new structural elevator and mechanical core; reconfiguring the loading dock; developing new support framing for compact storage and support for new rooftop mechanical units; and reconfiguring the entry to the auditorium.
