The goal of the Radio City Music Hall renewal project was to restore it to its 1930s/1940s Art Deco style, which includes murals; furnishings; finishes; curtain; plus the upgrading of all systems.

Structural features included analysis of the existing structure to determine how to accommodate modernization, design of structure for the added cable and telecommunication system, installation of the new exhaust and fuel oil systems throughout the building along with the new reactor room needed for the upgraded mechanical system, design of new light rails and the support system for new acoustic paneling in the theater area without damage to existing historic fabric, design of the new catwalk, and design of rooftop housing for the new generator.
