Silman completed a new, more intimate rooftop sanctuary accented by walls of sheer glass. A curving wall of Jerusalem Stone is displayed within the chapel, and the terrace provides additional space for religious celebrations. In addition, two new elevators were added: a new six-story elevator with a lobby at each floor and a new street-level handicap elevator servicing the street-level handicap access entrance and cellar. A new steel structure fire escape in the rear was also added. Portions of an existing structure were used. Some existing columns were extended to provide a new roof at a higher elevation. Silman removed existing interior columns and installed new transfer girders to provide a column free space for the chapel.
