Mark Maghakian

Mark joined Silman in 1983 and currently serves as a CAD Manager for the drafting studio. He specializes in the use of CAD software and demonstrates advanced knowledge of software functions, in addition to possessing an understanding of the structural concepts on which the drawings are based. Mark also handles Revit production and recently completed documentation for a new 5-story building in Brooklyn, NY. In his over 30 years of experience, a few notable projects he has contributed to include the Battery Maritime Building in Lower Manhattan, Carnegie Hall, Fallingwater, Harvard Art Museums, and numerous projects for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center across New York City.

Mark has been involved in Canstruction, an annual competition that allows design professionals to build structures from canned goods, and after the competition, the building media is donated to food banks. His 1998 idea of having the Beatles in cans (“We CAN Work it Out”) was featured in People magazine. Mark is the manager of the company softball team which has been in existence for close to 50 years – he took over the pitching reigns from Bob Silman himself.
