Caesura is a new mixed-use building situated in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District. The building’s 123 apartments, a mix of affordable and market-rate, provide housing for a wide cross-section of urban households. Lower levels include space for two nonprofits: the Center for Fiction and the Mark Morris Dance Group.
The superstructure is cast-in-place concrete, which was selected for its structural economy and its ability to accommodate limited structural depth at the upper residential stories, where CMU and steel beams were utilized for lateral support.
Amenities include a fitness center, yoga and meditation studio, and rooftop garden lounge. Setbacks provide multiple outdoor terraces for residents. The property is designed to meet or exceed Enterprise Green Communities and LEED Gold criteria.
