This luxury fitness brand’s new corporate headquarters has traditional workspaces alongside more informal gathering areas. New feature stairs create sight lines across the project’s four contiguous levels.
New framing connects directly to existing columns to support the top of a feature stair between the 12th and 13th floors. Silman avoided overloading the existing slab by adding new steel at the top. Another key design element is the feature stair with sunken seating between the 11th and 12th floors, where Silman carefully coordinated the slopes of the stair and bleachers to accommodate varying widths and elevations.

Additional scope of work included reinforcements for an operable partition and sizing for the backup structure of features such as platform seating areas and a kinetic art installation. During construction, the firm worked closely with contractors to identify optimal connection strategies. On the eighth and ninth floors, Silman also designed a new stair and support for a new railing as part of a fit out for an Equinox-affiliated co-working company.
