This new 9-story hotel in Williamsburg is located on the site of the former Rosenwach water tower factory. Portions of that original structure’s carriage house were retained and now frame the hotel’s main kitchen area.
The overall massing of the building consists of a tower on a podium, and the lateral structure is a combination of braced frames and moment frames. A portion of the tower, supported by an exposed structural column, cantilevers over the sunken entrance lobby.
The building contains 10,000 sf of manufacturing space on the ground floor, followed by the 175-key hotel from the second through ninth floors. The hotel also features three restaurants, including one with an outdoor mezzanine and another located on the rooftop terrace.
