The distinctive undulating brick facade, formed from precast concrete panels with inlaid brick, is connected back the building slab edge with embed plates.
Mulberry House is a new 13-story building containing high-end residential units on the upper floors and commercial space at the ground and cellar levels. Adjacent buildings and MTA tunnels required creative foundation solutions including drilled caissons, pile caps, and grade-beams to support a structural slab and the building above.
Silman designed a cast-in-place concrete structure in order to achieve the desired tight floor-to-floor sandwiches.
