The redesign of this 1948 12-story building included a new atrium-like lobby with a dramatic elliptical staircase.
This renovation created an improved home for NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, transforming the mid-block, party-wall building with its formerly uninviting lobby and rabbit-warren interior into an open, light-filled, and eco-friendly 21st-century space.
Renovated floors are now home to classrooms, student lounges, and computer labs for the Tisch Center, McGhee Division, ALI, Liberal Studies and Allied Arts, and other offices. The project has a LEED Silver certification goal.
