St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church

This 1918 Byzantine Revival church, designed by Bertram Goodhue, incorporates a French Romanesque Revival portal that was designed by McKim, Mead & White in 1902. The building is a designated NYC landmark was also designated a National Historic Landmark in 2016.

Silman has worked on various projects at St. Bartholomew’s, including master planning, conditions assessments, space reconfigurations, vertical and below-grade expansions, and a terrace renovation. Most recently, Silman’s engineers completed the restoration of the church’s Guastavino tile vault.
